Message

To students, who wish to enter our faculty,
Faculty of Education, Art and Science

Toshio Nasu
Dean, Faculty of Education, Art and Science

We nurture those who will be leaders in education, culture and sciences related to modern life style in their chosen community. We contribute to the revitalization of a spirit of community and produce upright members of a stable society.

You, who will be a student of this faculty, need to understand the meaning of full-fledged community power. For example, if you want to focus on the energy problem or environmental problem of a community, you need to consider the relationship with global warming and other environmental problems of mother earth as the life support system.

We cannot resolve the problems of local communities from the standpoint of isolationism. We must reconsider the relationship of local problems to the larger world. That is to say, almost every task for the local community correlates with the tasks of the world, the entire earth. So we need to expand upon a popular phrase. “Think globally and act locally, but also act globally and think locally.”

The faculty of Education, Art and Science consists of three departments:
Department of Education
Department of Art and Culture
Department of Information, Environmental and Food Sciences.

The faculty of Education, Art and Science seeks highly motivated students with the following visions:

Students who wish to become teachers, who regard a teacher’s mission as to develop the possibilities of individual children, keeping an eye on children’s growth, and who are eager to learn to this end.

Students who wish to play an active role in the area of music, art, sports, or international exchange in the future by acquiring the expertise and skills required in each area.

Students who wish to work as specialists in the areas of food or housing, the two basic necessities of human life, and students who wish to become professionals in information-related areas, which have been rapidly expanding in recent years due to revolutionary advances in our information age.

The Graduate School of Teacher Training and Graduate School of Regional Education and Culture opened in April, 2009. The Graduate School of Teacher Training develops highly specialized professional teachers. The Graduate School of Regional Education and Culture cultivates highly specialized experts to contribute to the creation and promotion of community cultural activities as well as psychological care specialists.

We welcome and look forward to meeting those students who come to the Faculty of Education, Art and Science to realize their dreams and fulfill their ambitions.

Organization and Enrollment Limits

Drastic changes in the social environment, as exemplified by the acceleration of globalization and informatization brought on by the rapid advances in scientific technologies, the declining birthrate, an aging society, welfare and environmental problems raise an important community issue, namely, the building and consolidation of a comprehensive community strength.

With the aim of enhancing the educational, cultural, and living strengths of communities, the Faculty of Education, Art, and Science strives to develop practical professionals who can contribute to the revitalization of community culture at large through educational, cultural, or life-related activities.
